About Us - East End Garage

East End Garage has been a member of the Jefferson community for 117 years, we are one of the oldest continuously operated business in Schoharie County. 

The history of East End Garage goes back to the traditions of blacksmithing and dairy production. The first building was built on the property in 1907. The structure was a wooden blacksmithing shop and behind it was a co-op creamery. Over the next 25 years the property changed hands numerous times, until 1935 when the wooden building caught fire and burned to the ground.

The current building was built and became known as East End Garage in 1935. In 1963 the building was first used an an auto mechanics garage. The business operated and grew until 2001 when the building and business were bought by the current owner, Jon Leas.

Originally from Deposit, Jon received mechanical training while serving in the US Army during the First Gulf War. Jon worked on all types of vehicles at various garages for over 10 years before purchasing East End Garage. Joining Jon in helping serve the community are Daniel, Dustin, and Bob. With over 75 years of combined mechanical skill, they can handle anything needed for all types of automotive and mechanical services.

East End Garage services everything from heavy equipment and trucks to old and new foreign and domestic cars. We provide automotive and mechanical services to local schools, highway departments, the US Postal Service and the entire community.

East End Garage specializes in diagnostic work with the latest equipment and technologies. We have custom built our wide range of services to meet every need of the modern equipment operator/driver. We offer front end and four wheel alignment, New York State Inspections, oil changes, tune ups, any type of diagnostic and troubleshooting services, complete engine and transmission rebuilds/replacements, full range of heavy equipment services, and everything else any modern day driver would need for their vehicle.
